| Roger left Twinsburg the day after graduation June 66 and started over in Minnesota, just outside of Minneapolis in a suburb, Edina. While staying with my parents, I found a job and bought a 1961 Corvette. What a blast. I visited Twinsburg a year later and met Diane Moten. We dated during the summer and fall and later that December, married. Yes I sold the Vette' but kick myself every day for it. Upon returning to Minnesota I entered Control Data Institute in Computer Technology. A year later graduated and found myself very draftable. I enlisted in the Army and ended up in Okinawa for a little over 2 years and returned to Minnesota. I've been working in the Computer industry ever since. Currently I work for a small Network Consulting company, AND Group. I've had a couple layoffs during the ride and have been up and down but still employed. The family is all out of the house now. My son Robbie, born Mar 5, 1970, lives just a few miles from us and shares parenting our two grand sons, Ryan , and Randy and two grand daughters, Elliana and Marissa . Our daughter Jessica, born Mar 11, 1976 lives just a few miles away with grandson, Rider and grand daughters Aleah and Hailey. While in Okinawa I rode a lot of dirt bike. I fell in love with getting muddy and the challenge of staying upright. Dirt biking continued providing lots of fun through 25 years of competing and promoting off road events. Son Robbie also fell a victim to dirt bikes, and was lucky enough be able to ride the Grand Daddy of them all the International Six Day Enduro 1994 in Tulsa, OK. Daughter Jessica rides a little too and I hope the Grand Kids find some fun with the sport as well. Diane and I are thankful for life and both in good health. |
